The name on the license
A family company, in business since 2007.
Shane Hawkes started Shawkes Electric in April 2007. Nineteen years on, he still looks at the panel, writes the price and works the jobs himself.
Most of the work is in homes: panel upgrades, solar, spa hookups, mini-split circuits, new circuits and outlets, fans and fixtures.
- A written price before work starts. You see the number before anything is booked.
- Permits pulled for you. The fee is on the quote, and we meet the inspector.
- Labeled panels. When we work in your panel, each label matches the room it feeds.
Arizona ROC 326650, class R-11. Licensed and bonded. Check the license (search 326650 on the ROC site).

We have used Shawkes Electric for over 10 years. Shane, the owner, has performed multiple electrical jobs at our home and has always done an outstanding job with good value. He is courteous, professional and extremely competent. We highly recommend his company and their work!

If you're looking for an electrician you can trust, Shawkes Electric is it. Kai and Fin were great to have on-site as well. I've dealt with plenty of contractors over the years, and this was one of the better experiences. Shawkes Electric is a company I'd use again without hesitation.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone. He is an excellent electrician and is wonderful to work with. I would rate him higher than a 5 but that is all they will give me.

Good choice! Shane provided me a good service, quite quickly, and for a very fair price. Give him a try.

Just had a great experience with our electrician today, we had a problem with our ceiling fan and he found the problem. Thank you for the quick response.

Questions we get
Short answers to what people ask on the first call. If yours is not here, call and ask.
What does a panel upgrade cost?
Most 200 amp panel upgrades run $2,800 to $4,800 installed. The spread comes from where the meter sits, whether the utility has to pull it, and how many circuits move to the new panel.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, when the job needs one. Panel upgrades, new circuits and spa hookups get a permit with the city or county, and we schedule the inspection.
How long does a panel upgrade take?
One day, with the power off for six to eight hours while the old panel comes out and the new one goes in. We tell you the day before so you can plan around it.
Do you install EV chargers?
Yes. A Level 2 charger circuit on a 200 amp panel is usually a half-day job. If your panel is full or undersized, we tell you that first and price both options.
What is the warranty?
Two years on our workmanship. Parts carry the manufacturer warranty. If something we installed fails, call and Shane comes back.
